            PRP THERAPY

What is PRP Therapy?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a type of regenerative therapy that utilizes the body’s innate ability to heal itself, while reversing many of the natural signs of aging. With its healing and regenerative abilities, PRP injections can be used to minimize wrinkles and fine lines, reduce dark circles, and improve skin tone and texture. It can also stimulate new collagen production to restore skin elasticity and firmness for a more youthful appearance.

How does PRP Therapy work?.

When PRP is injected into the skin, it initiates a localized stem cell response, which over weeks and months, attracts collagen-producing cells (fibroblasts) to the area. These fibroblasts replace tissue that has been damaged or has diminished through aging. As this collagen matures, it begins to shrink and tighten and strengthen the skin or other damaged area – the result is a younger complexion!

Overall improvement in skin hydration, texture and tone can be seen in a few weeks post injections. New collagen and blood vessels begin to form within three to six weeks, and fine lines and wrinkles are reduced and volume enhances over the next three to six months.

What does the procedure involve?

A healthcare professional will draw a sample of your blood. The amount of the sample depends on the area(s) to be treated.

● The blood is then placed into a centrifuge. This is a machine that spins around very quickly, causing the blood components to separate. The separation process takes about 15 minutes.

●  The separated plasma is then prepared for injection into the treatment area.

● PRP is injected into the areas that are difficult to treat with other procedures, e.g. area around and under your eyes, nasolabial folds, acne scars, etc. to help with sunken skin and volume loss.

 ● PRP can be pushed deep into the dermis using a collagen induction device for all over rejuvenation of the face, neck and décolletage areas.

What will I look like after the treatment?

Minimal swelling, bruising, and redness for the initial 12 to 24 hours are expected.  Since the injections utilize your body's own components, there is no risk for allergic reactions or rejections.

What is the down time after a PRP treatment?

After treatment, patients experience minimal to zero downtime, and see visible results in as little as a few weeks. Outcomes can last for up to 18 months to two years.

Is PRP therapy painful?

Prior to beginning the treatment, a topical numbing ointment is applied to the area. We allow this to stay on the area 20-30 minutes while we prepare for your session to ensure maximum absorption. Therefore, there is minimum to no pain during the procedure.

What are the benefits of PRP therapy?

As mentioned, PRP therapy has multiple aesthetic uses, such as:

  • Wrinkle therapy –  fine and deep wrinkles, crow’s feet

  • Under eye dark circles (skin tends to be too thin and there’s not enough muscle there for other fillers)

  • Décolleté or creepy skin (neck and chest)

  • Rosacea

  • Sun damaged skin

  • Brown or red discolorations

  • Mild collagen and volume loss

  • Stretch marks

  • Acne scarring

  • Cellulite

In addition, there are even more uses for PRP treatments. We currently offer the following:

  • Sexual wellness and/or rejuvenation

  • Hair thinning/loss
